About Parker
I’m Parker Martorella—a dual-degree Art & Design (Stamps School of Art & Design) and Information Science (School of Information) student at the University of Michigan, with a minor in Entrepreneurship through the Ross School of Business. My passion lies at the intersection of graphic design, product design, and user-centered practices, where I aim to create solutions that are both functional, aesthetic and impactful.
I believe design is a bridge between creativity and functionality, offering solutions that improve lives and connect people. This philosophy drives me to approach every project with purpose, empathy, and a focus on real-world impact.
At Stamps, I’ve developed strong skills in visual storytelling and communication design. Through Mdesign, a student-led design consulting club, I’ve collaborated on real-world projects with Stamps, Taubman, Engineering, and SI students, for campus and local organizations. These experiences have strengthened my ability to work with clients, adapt my creative process, and deliver thoughtful, impactful designs that meet community needs.
I’m also passionate about leveraging design and technology to solve meaningful problems. Recently, I developed a program that generates personalized hurricane supply lists, addressing preparedness during times of uncertainty. The project was shared with over 175 students and faculty members, sparking conversations about accessible solutions in response to funding challenges for organizations like NOAA.
Beyond design work, my leadership experiences—mentoring with Breakthrough Collaborative and engaging with Gamma Phi Beta—have strengthened my ability to collaborate, communicate, and lead with intention. A semester abroad in Florence, Italy expanded my perspective, reminding me of the importance of flexibility and cultural context in shaping thoughtful, user-centered work.
Looking ahead, I aspire to grow into a Creative Director role, where I can combine my foundation in graphic design with emerging skills in user experience and entrepreneurial thinking. My goal is to lead teams in crafting innovative solutions that connect, inspire, and drive meaningful change—whether through intuitive design, impactful products, or problem-solving strategies.
